The role of an accountant is to help an organization manage its finances effectively, ensuring that financial information is accurate, timely, and useful for decision-making.
Responsibilities
Maintaining accurate financial records: Accountants are responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely. This includes maintaining records of all revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
Prepare and review financial statements and reports: Accountants prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide a snapshot of an organizations financial health.
Monthly Reconciling accounts and identifying discrepancies: Accountants review account balances and transactions to ensure that they are accurate and identify any discrepancies that need to be addressed.
Assisting with budget preparation and analysis: Accountants may be involved in preparing budgets and analyzing actual financial performance against budgeted amounts.
Providing support for audits and other financial reviews: Accountants may be responsible for providing documentation and support for audits or other financial reviews.
Ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and standards: Accountants must stay up to date with accounting regulations and standards to ensure that their organization complies.
Providing guidance and support to other departments: Accountants may provide guidance and support to other departments within the organization to help them understand financial information and make informed decisions.
Perform timely month-end closing.
Prepare and file tax returns.
Assist with budget preparation and analysis.
Provide support for audits and other financial reviews.
Stay up to date with accounting regulations and standards.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA or other relevant certification preferred.
At least 5 years of accounting experience, including experience with financial statement preparation, general ledger analysis, and tax filings.
Proficient in ERP accounting software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
