As a front desk representative in a hotel, your job responsibilities may vary depending on the size and type of hotel, but generally, they include:

Guest Check-In and Check-Out: Welcoming guests, assisting them with the check-in process, verifying their reservation details, assigning rooms, issuing room keys, and providing information about hotel amenities and services. Similarly, managing guest check-out, processing payments, and ensuring smooth departure procedures.

Reservations and Room Assignments: Handling reservations made through phone, email, or online systems, ensuring accuracy of guest information, and assigning rooms based on guest preferences, special requests, and availability.

Guest Services: Providing exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally. Assisting with luggage, arranging transportation, recommending local attractions, and providing directions.

Front Desk Operations: Managing the front desk area, including maintaining cleanliness and organization, monitoring and responding to incoming calls, emails, and messages, managing mail and packages, and handling currency exchange and safe deposit boxes.

Guest Billing and Accounting: Managing guest accounts, processing payments, maintaining accurate records of guest charges, and resolving billing discrepancies. Reconciling cash and credit card transactions, preparing daily reports, and managing financial transactions in compliance with hotel policies and procedures.

Security and Safety: Ensuring the security and safety of guests and the hotel by monitoring and controlling access to the hotel premises, issuing and managing guest room keys, responding to emergency situations, and following established security protocols.

Technology and Systems: Utilizing hotel management software, property management systems (PMS), and other computer systems to manage guest reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and other front desk operations. Troubleshooting technical issues and coordinating with IT support as needed.

Team Coordination: Collaborating with other hotel departments, such as housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage, to fulfill guest requests, resolve issues, and ensure smooth hotel operations. Communicating effectively with colleagues and maintaining a professional and positive work environment.
