Customer Service: Greeting customers warmly as they approach the checkout counter, scanning their items, and processing their transactions accurately and efficiently. Providing assistance with bagging items, answering questions about products or promotions, and addressing any concerns or issues that customers may have.
Cash Handling: Accepting cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments, and other forms of payment from customers. Counting cash accurately, processing transactions using electronic cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems, and reconciling cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accuracy.
Product Scanning and Pricing: Scanning barcodes or manually entering product codes to register items for purchase. Verifying prices and applying discounts or promotions as applicable, and ensuring that all items are scanned and accounted for correctly.
Bagging and Packing: Bagging customers purchases neatly and efficiently, taking care to separate fragile items and prevent damage to products. Assisting customers with carrying or loading their purchases if needed, and offering assistance with carts or baskets.
