Job Title: Construction Foreman

Job Summary: The Construction Foreman is responsible for coordinating and supervising construction projects from start to finish. They ensure that work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Foreman works closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and the project team to ensure smooth workflow and successful project delivery.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers to plan project timelines, allocate resources, and set targets for each phase of construction.

Supervision: Direct and oversee the daily activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and other personnel involved in the project.

Safety compliance: Enforce safety regulations and ensure that all workers adhere to safety protocols and procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.

Quality Control: Monitor work progress and ensure that construction activities meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct quality checks and inspections as necessary.

Resource Management: Coordinate the allocation of materials, equipment, and manpower to ensure efficient use of resources and optimal productivity.

Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction, including technical challenges, scheduling conflicts, or budgetary constraints.

Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with project stakeholders, including contractors, clients, and management. Provide regular progress reports and updates on project status.

Documentation: Keep accurate records of project activities, including daily logs, work orders, and change orders. Maintain documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.

Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to construction workers to enhance their skills and performance. Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.

Cost Management: Monitor project expenses and control costs to ensure that the project stays within budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize project finances.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or similar role in the construction industry.

In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, techniques, and safety standards.

Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.

Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.

Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.

Proficiency in reading construction blueprints and drawings.

Knowledge of construction software and tools for project management and scheduling.

Certification in construction management or a related field is a plus.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Additional certification or training in construction management, building trades, or a related field is desirable.

Working Conditions:

Construction site environment with exposure to various weather conditions and physical demands.

Regular travel to project sites may be required.

Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate project needs.
