Responsibilities:

Operate computer systems and peripheral equipment, including printers, scanners, and data entry devices, to process and manage information efficiently.

Monitor system operations and performance, responding promptly to error messages, alerts, and malfunctions to ensure uninterrupted workflow.

Execute batch processing jobs, data backups, and file transfers according to established schedules and procedures.

Input commands and instructions into computer systems to execute programs, run applications, and perform data processing tasks.

Maintain accurate logs and records of system activities, job runs, and error reports, documenting any issues or incidents for review and analysis.

Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems, diagnosing issues and implementing solutions to resolve technical issues promptly.

Coordinate with IT support teams and software developers to address system upgrades, patches, and software installations, ensuring compatibility and minimal disruption to operations.

Follow security protocols and procedures to protect data integrity, confidentiality, and system access, including password management and user authentication.

Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and providing guidance on system usage and best practices.

Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and developments in computer systems and software applications, sharing knowledge and insights with team members.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in computer science, information technology, or related field is preferred.

Proven experience as a Computer Operator or similar role, with a solid understanding of computer systems, hardware, and software applications.

Proficiency in operating system environments, including Windows, Unix/Linux, and/or mainframe systems.

Familiarity with data processing concepts, batch scheduling tools, and job control languages.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze system errors, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement effective solutions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and communicate technical information to non-technical users.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed to support 24/7 operations.
