Responsibilities:

Supervise and engage with children in a safe and nurturing environment, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development through play-based activities, games, and educational experiences.

Establish positive relationships with children and families, greeting them warmly, addressing their needs and concerns, and providing regular updates on their Childs progress and well-being.

Implement age-appropriate curriculum and learning activities designed to promote language development, literacy skills, fine and gross motor skills, and socialization in accordance with program guidelines and standards.

Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment, including setting up learning centers, arranging materials, and displaying children artwork and projects to encourage exploration and creativity.

Monitor children behavior and interactions, intervening proactively to resolve conflicts, teach social skills, and reinforce positive behavior management techniques based on positive reinforcement and redirection.

Observe children developmental milestones, interests, and strengths, documenting observations and progress reports to track individual progress and inform parent-teacher conferences and assessments.

Collaborate with colleagues and participate in team meetings, sharing ideas, resources, and best practices to enhance program quality, curriculum planning, and professional development.

Adhere to licensing regulations, safety protocols, and health guidelines for child care facilities, ensuring compliance with sanitation, hygiene, and emergency procedures to maintain a healthy and secure environment for children and staff.

Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and supervisors, demonstrating professionalism, confidentiality, and empathy in all interactions.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; additional education or certification in early childhood education, child development, or related field preferred.

Previous experience working with young children in a child care setting, preschool, daycare, or similar environment preferred.

Passion for working with children and creating a supportive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where all children feel valued, respected, and supported.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues and effectively convey information and ideas.

Patience, empathy, and flexibility to respond to the individual needs and interests of children, adapting teaching strategies and activities to accommodate diverse learning styles and developmental stages.

Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education theories, and best practices for promoting positive social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development in young children.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing ideas, resources, and responsibilities to create a cohesive and supportive work environment.

Commitment to professional growth and ongoing learning, participating in training, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education.

Valid CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) and background clearance checks required by state licensing regulations.
