Job Description:
We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for accurately processing transactions and providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities:
Greet customers as they enter the store and provide a welcoming atmosphere.
Accurately and efficiently ring up customers purchases using a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.
Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions with precision and ensure the till balances at the end of each shift.
Answer customer inquiries regarding prices, products, and store policies.
Bag customers items neatly and offer assistance with carrying bags to their vehicles if needed.
Maintain a clean and organized cashier area, including the cash register and surrounding space.
Process returns and exchanges following company guidelines and policies.
Verify age-restricted product purchases, such as alcohol or tobacco, in compliance with legal requirements.
Follow company procedures for handling voids, discounts, and coupons.
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by reporting discrepancies or stock shortages.
Collaborate with the store management team to resolve customer complaints or issues.
Stay updated on current promotions and sales to inform customers and upsell products when appropriate.
Adhere to all cash handling and cash drawer management policies.
Participate in training sessions to stay informed about company products and services.
Maintain a positive and friendly attitude while providing exceptional customer service.
Follow security and loss prevention procedures to protect company assets.
Perform opening and closing duties as required, including reconciling the cash drawer.
Other duties as assigned by the store manager or supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous cashier or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills for operating a cash register or POS system.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads.
Friendly and customer-oriented demeanor.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of cash handling and basic arithmetic.
Integrity and honesty in handling cash and financial transactions.
