As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the lead teacher in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students. Responsibilities:
Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and educational activities.
Support students in their learning by providing one-on-one or small group assistance as needed.
Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
Assist with classroom management, including maintaining order and discipline in accordance with school policies.
Supervise students during various activities, such as lunchtime, recess, and field trips.
Provide extra help to students with special needs or learning challenges, as directed by the lead teacher or special education coordinator.
Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary.
Prepare and organize teaching materials, including visual aids, supplies, and educational resources.
Assist in the maintenance of student records and documentation of their academic and behavioral progress.
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on student performance and address concerns or questions.
Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training as required by the school.
Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
Follow all school policies and procedures, including safety protocols.
Participate in the development and implementation of school-wide educational initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Education or a related field is preferred; candidates with associate degrees or coursework in education are also encouraged to apply.
Teaching Assistant Certification or relevant certifications may be required by the state or school district.
Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students.
Ability to work collaboratively with lead teachers, staff, and parents.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology is a plus.
