In a role as a Civil Supervisor, you would be expected to monitor civil infrastructure projects. You would oversee specific activities such as building a bridge, repairing highways and tunnel construction. There is typically a mix of office work and a requirement to be onsite to oversee the project. It is important that you have experience both as an engineer onsite and a manager of people as part of your role is to manage a project team.
Responsibilities:
Managing all aspects of construction for your own live project and reporting into the Project Manager,
Controlling all aspects of the construction works,
Keeping the project adequately resourced with plant and materials,
Self-performing certain elements of works,
Monitoring and controlling all aspects of H and S,
Controlling and managing specialist sub-contractors,
Keeping accurate records of production,
Providing reports on works completed, etc.
Usual Requirements:
Extensive experience in production and supervisory role, and ideally have good bridge construction experience.
Previous work history with the main contractor on medium or large scale project sizes.
Extensive commitment and understanding of all matters relating to H and S and the Environment.
Demonstrated experience in directing and managing your own labour force to achieve the desired outcome, keeping in mind commercial constraints.
Previous experience in managing specialist sub-contractors and self-performing works, with hands-on experience.
