INTRODUCTION The Infrastructure Architecture and Engineering group is a component of The Infrastructure Engineering, Operations and Support (iEOS) organization that is part of Advance Auto Parts Information Technology function. This team is responsible for all phases of Infrastructure delivery from architecture to daily operations. The Senior Systems Engineer supports a large-scale Distributed Infrastructure, providing technical skills in problem solving, maintenance, and project build situations. This position will install, maintain, and configure systems infrastructure on a widely distributed network. The Senior Systems Engineer acts under general directions and with limited supervision with the ability to provide technical leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform basic and advanced Systems Administration tasks. Serve as a technical resource for support services, business partners, and customers. Provide third-Tier (L3) support for Company production systems. Install, maintain and perform configuration of Infrastructure applications. Maintain Active Directory environment including Group Policy, internal and external certificates. Perform domain controller maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting. Participate in the creation of entire Systems (Clients, Server Hardware, network, and databases). Build and maintain strategic partnerships with peer teams. Participate and coordinate activities for incident management, service development, service transition, and continual service improvement of store systems infrastructure services. Collaborate with other Team Member Engineers. Participate in an On-Call 24x7 rotation, or weekend work along with other Team Member Engineers. QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated understanding of software engineering, systems engineering, or Information Systems Management. Information Systems Management experience in a distributed environment (retail or equivalent). Experienced working within standard project management methodologies. Proven experience at handling multiple assignments and using strong prioritization skills. Working experience with forest/multi domain Active Directory and GPO. Working experience with DNS, Group Policy and PKI. Working experience with Power Shell for Active Directory. experience with domain upgrades. experience with Azure and Azure AD. experience with Systems Infrastructure engineering in a large distributed environment. experience with Windows server 2003 2019 and client operating systems. EDUCATION and/or experience Bachelors degree in computer science or related field; and 2-4 years experience in Systems Engineering; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
