PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: We are looking for an experienced BI lead to lead a team of BI Developers. You will be a hands-on lead and review the work of your team members, coach/train them and make sure that the team is a high performing team. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
1. Provides work directions and reviews the work of BI developers/Report developers at offshore. Co-ordinates with onshore team in US. 2. Develops, tests, and deploys standard reports and dashboards based on business requirement document specifications.
3. Works collaboratively with Business Systems Analysts and/or directly with key users to ensure business requirements and report specifications are documented accurately and completely.
4. Develops front ends (Reporting Services, Visual Studio, Visual Analytics) for the SQL and PowerBI environments.
5. Supports the day-to-day operation of the reporting and analytic solutions by troubleshooting ETL and other errors encountered during data processing.
6. Answers users questions and creates reports that are accurate, easy to read, and include useful information that satisfies the users needs.
7. Completes change requests for new reports and enhancements in a timely manner with high quality.
8. Works collaboratively with others across departments in order to perform and complete necessary tasks and projects.
9. Follows established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), change control, release management and incident management processes while developing and deploying standard reports. 10. Provides technical guidance and training to business ad-hoc report developers on appropriate usage of available BI tools. 11. Researches BI best practices and analytic methods and determines where best to implement. 12. Builds and maintains relationships cross-functionally in order to stay current with the needs and operations of the business functional areas supported. 13. Keeps manager informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach. 14. Performs related work as apparent or assigned. At least 10 years relevant work experience, out of which 2 years as technical lead. Proficiency in the following areas: Data warehousing, PowerBI, Azure, Azure Data lake/Synapse and SSIS. experience with the Extract, Translate, Load (ETL) process of transitioning a variety of data sources into analytical data sources required. experience in relational database design and dimensional modeling is preferred. Research/Peer-Review background with exposure to predictive modeling methodology preferred. experience with system and customer support preferred. Must be willing to work as a team and also possess the skills to work independently. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and utilize creativity on assigned projects. Must possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical design skills. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
