PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: To make dashboards available and develop reports using Standard Query Language (SQL), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), PowerBI, or other enterprise tools to meet the needs of business users. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 1. Develops, tests, and deploys standard reports and dashboards based on business requirement document specifications.
2. Works collaboratively with Business Systems Analysts and/or directly with key users to ensure business requirements and report specifications are documented accurately and completely.
3. Develops front ends (Reporting Services, Visual Studio, Visual Analytics) for the SQL and PowerBI environments.
4. Supports the day-to-day operation of the reporting and analytic solutions by troubleshooting ETL and other errors encountered during data processing.
5. Answers users questions and creates reports that are accurate, easy to read, and include useful information that satisfies the users needs.
6. Completes change requests for new reports and enhancements in a timely manner with high quality.
7. Works collaboratively with others across departments in order to perform and complete necessary tasks and projects.
8. Follows established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), change control, release management and incident management processes while developing and deploying standard reports.
9. Provides technical guidance and training to business ad-hoc report developers on appropriate usage of available BI tools. 10. Research BI best practices and analytic methods and determines where best to implement. 11. Builds and maintains relationships cross-functionally in order to stay current with the needs and operations of the business functional areas supported. 12. Keeps manager informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach. 13. Performs related work as apparent or assigned. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business or related field. At least 3 years relevant work experience. At least an intermediate proficiency in the following areas: SQL and PowerBI. experience with system and customer support preferred. Must be willing to work as a team and also possess the skills to work independently. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and utilize creativity on assigned projects. Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical design skills. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
