We are developer’s developers. We provide and foster the cloud native culture to our organization. Our team has the whole gamut of platforms, services, libraries, tools and frameworks on some of the cutting-edge technologies to solve hard, complex and high scale business problems. The Infrastructure as a Service team provides private and public cloud infrastructure - compute (VMs, CPUs, GPUs and Bare metals), storage (CEPH), SDN and container platform. The Developer Environment – DE team – provides world class CI/CD pipelines, workflow automation, repositories and One Ops deployment tool providing ultimate Dev Ops power to developers for continuous delivery. The data platforms team provides multi-tenant managed services for app data (rdbms, nosql, search, cache), data in motion (Audit and Reconciliation, JMS, Kafka, AMQ, stream processing frameworks, unified data pipeline, etc) and data analytics (Hadoop, spark, etc)
Position Summary
We are looking for a strong Big Data Engineer who will help us build a highly scalable and performant Walmart. Unified Data platform to match our exponential growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver solutions by leveraging the power of data.
• Design and develop scalable and performant backend services, deploy to cloud.
• Develop fault-tolerant and highly performant micro-services.
• Able to independently handle high impact critical issues.
• Actively participates in the agile practices and ceremonies for the team.
• Able to independently learn and adopt new technologies and framework.
Qualifications
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or closely related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6-8 Years of software development experience working in Scala, Java or Python.
• Strong knowledge working with Big data technologies like Spark ETLs, Hadoop, Hive and Kafka.
• experience in building and designing scalable Data pipeline.
• Familiarity with containerization with Docker.
• Building CI/CD pipeline for deploying spark jobs.
• experience in Unix/Linux shell scripting or similar programming/scripting knowledge.
• Have a strong passion for developing elegant and well-designed frameworks.
• A history of open-source contribution is an asset.
