We are developer’s developers. We provide and foster the cloud native culture to our organization. Our team has the whole gamut of platforms, services, libraries, tools and frameworks on some of the cutting-edge technologies to solve hard, complex and high scale business problems. The Infrastructure as a Service team provides private and public cloud infrastructure - compute (VMs, CPUs, GPUs and Bare metals), storage (CEPH), SDN and container platform. The Developer Environment – DE team – provides world class CI/CD pipelines, workflow automation, repositories and One Ops deployment tool providing ultimate Dev Ops power to developers for continuous delivery. The data platforms team provides multi-tenant managed services for app data (rdbms, nosql, search, cache), data in motion (Audit and Reconciliation, JMS, Kafka, AMQ, stream processing frameworks, unified data pipeline, etc) and data analytics (Hadoop, spark, etc)
As a cloud migration consultant @Walmart Labs, you will be working on multiple cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, Open Stack) environments. Will have wide scope in designing the migration strategy between one RDBMS to another RDBMS and RDBMS to NoSQL. Exposure to multiple migration tools and database products ranging from RBMS to NoSql technologies. E.g. (Oracle/MySQL/MSSQL/Maria/Cosmos/Cassandra/Infomrix/DB2 UDB/DB2/Azure SQL). Exposure and hands-on to automation technologies. E.g. (python, ansible, shell script, java, spark, Kafka, Forklift).
Your Responsibility
· Contribute to migration community inside Walmart, automate the migration across multiple platforms.
· Design, develop and maintain next generation migration product/libraries inside Walmart.
· Work with application team across pillars to develop tool for schema comparison, data validation and migration simplification.
· Work with applications across pillars of business to facilitate messaging solutions.
· Strong expertise in data migration on Prem to On-Premise OR On-Premise to Cloud services (Preferably Azure).
· Data Modeling Database Design, Tuning Design Parameters, Tuning Normalization etc.
· Demonstrate database technical functionality, such as performance, security and reliability.
· Capable of planning and migrating production workloads with best practices.
· Mandatory database migration experience.
