Port Engineer required for a Maritime - Ship Agency in Dubai. Must be a qualified Mechanical Engineer / Naval Engineer or Architect to be placed.
Reporting to fleet technical manager
Job purpose:
• To fulfill requirements of the technical management of fleet of vessels under the management of DTA Maritime in close liaison with Fleet Technical Manager and vessel’s crew.
• Reports to the Fleet Technical Manager and works in close liaison with crewing Manager to ensure that vessels are manned with competent crew.
• Interrelates with external and internal resources as deemed appropriate during the vessel maintenance and operational requirements.
Main role and responsibilities:
• Hands-on with the necessary works as per maintenance requirement of the vessels.
• Carrying out ship inspections as per the schedule and as/when required.
• Preparing docking specifications and other repair specifications for the vessels under management and supervision and execution of the required repairs.
• Managing the vessels under the premise of budgets, regulatory and charter requirements and in compliance with company operational requirements.
• Management of PMS, Certification, Audits, Inspections and surveys for all vessels under management.
• Budget submissions and resource allocation to achieve optimum efficiency of available resources.
• Close liaison with crew to ensure effective training and gap analysis for the crew to develop a trained and dedicated workforce to work on the vessels under management.
• Troubleshooting of the issues/problems of vessels in close liaison with vessel\'s management team.
• Contractor management for economic supplies and repair services to ensure cost-effective management with a focus on the allocated budget.
• Commercial focus into vessel management to ensure that vessel operation meets the commercial requirements of vessel as per charter party.
• Effective liaison with the internal and external customers and support teams.
• Vessel’s performance management as per directives and guidelines of the management.
• Commercial focus into vessel management to ensure that vessel operation meets the commercial requirements of vessel as per charter party.

• Minimum 2 years of experience as Port Engineer / Tech Superintendent or similar position in Maritime industry.

• Good interpersonal skills in order to develop close relationships with shipboard staff, charterers as well as internal and external support functions.
• Seagoing experience as Senior Engineer on board vessels.
• Must have a work experience in technical management of vessels under Saudi Aramco and ADNOC projects.
• Hands-on experience of working on Marine Engines and other auxiliaries and systems onboard offshore vessels.
Education and professional qualifications:
• Diploma/Degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture.
• Certified ISM Auditor
• QHSE Certification from a recognized body.
