Essential duties and responsibilities:
-The primary mission for this role will be to know our customers. Know, and care about, their likes and dislikes, what will improve their experiences, and earn and sustain their loyalty.
-Work closely both with business stakeholders and the development team, in order to make the best, most informed design choices as we strive to deliver for our customers.
-Partners closely with customer research teams to build usability testing scenarios, interview and engage with real customers, form conclusion based on research and provide direction based on these results. Continue to refine our in-house testing lab.
-Be able to start with a conversation or a napkin sketch, and produce fully-realized user experiences and workflows - based on best practices, methodologies and tools - so your design and development teammates will be in position to succeed.
-Own and drive the peer review process. Hold quarterly meetings to make the team better through peer review and knowledge sharing. Provide recaps and direction to leadership as a result of learnings.
-Assist on product road maps and feature planning. Partner closely with the product owner team to provide valuable insights on upcoming features to anticipate how future customers will engage with shopping experiences.
-Generate a robust component library. Lead project to establish our React component library, which will Bolster UX quality assurance on how components function.
-Mentor, teach and learn. Own being a true partner and mentor for your teammates and peers, along with growing the knowledge base that follows.
-Be in the vanguard of a truly agile, Dev Ops culture here at AAP. Be experienced and capable in an agile environment.
