Job Responsibilities:
• The key responsibility is to work with the wider technical team in the development of new tests and technologies.
• Setting up of additional testing capabilities in Chemistry department.
• Will undertake laboratory work, the arrangement and supervision of Testing, as well as to Deputize for the Chemist when required.
• Provide direction to all team members
• Identify, monitor and evaluate all day today activities of the laboratory.
• To carry out other duties as is within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by your Laboratory Manager.
• Management of new tests and/or technologies to ensure that they are delivered to specification, on time and within budget.
• Continually maintain an up-to-date knowledge of new tests and technologies that are of interest to the Company.
• Receive samples, perform tests and release reports on time.
• Analysis and assessment of raw materials compile technical reports on findings.
• Identify and evaluate alternative materials (contingency planning).
• In conjunction with the wider team, develop initiatives and action plans to reduce the level of complaints and non-conformances. In case of customer complaints, coordinate with customer and follow correction, root cause analysis, corrective action and preventive actions.
• Maintain all test files including documents proving compliance to external standards.
• Perform environmental monitoring (Ambient, Stack, Noise, Indoor, etc.) and report on time.
• Take up onshore and offshore jobs.
• Support sales and marketing team to identify new customers and bring new business.
• Achieve agreed business plan.
• Establish training calendar and execute accordingly.
• Plan and execute required sample collection for Chemistry, chemical and environmental department.
• Develop, implement, maintain and achieve quality management system as per ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and other local regulatory requirements.
