The Heavy Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting goods and materials using heavy trucks over long or short distances. Key duties include conducting pre- and post- trip vehicle inspections, securing and unloading cargo, and maintaining accurate delivery records. Drivers must follow traffic laws and company safety protocols while ensuring timely and reliable deliveries. Effective communication with dispatch and clients is essential for updates and instructions. A valid CDL with endorsements is required, along with experience in operating large vehicles. Physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe driving practices are essential.
Qualifications:
Licenses/Certifications: Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with endorsements for heavy trucks (Class A or Class B, depending on vehicle type).
Experience: Previous experience driving heavy trucks preferred. Familiarity with route planning, GPS, and ELD (Electronic Logging Device) systems is an asset.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy loads, sit for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
