Responsibilities:

Assist passengers in boarding and exiting the bus safely, especially those with special needs or mobility issues.

Ensure that passengers are seated and wearing seat belts during the journey.

Maintain order and discipline among passengers, particularly children, to ensure a safe and peaceful environment.

Communicate with the bus driver regarding any issues or concerns related to passengers or the vehicle.

Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization on the bus, including picking up trash and reporting any maintenance issues.

Monitor passenger behavior and intervene when necessary to prevent conflicts or unsafe situations.

Provide assistance and support to passengers with disabilities or special needs, including securing wheelchairs or mobility devices.

Follow established safety protocols and emergency procedures in case of accidents or incidents.

Uphold company policies and regulations regarding passenger conduct and safety at all times.

Attend training sessions and meetings to stay informed about company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in passenger assistance or customer service is a plus.

Previous experience as a bus attendant, school bus monitor, or in a similar role preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with passengers of all ages and backgrounds.

Compassion, patience, and empathy when dealing with passengers, especially those with special needs.

Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful or emergency situations.

Physical fitness and stamina to assist passengers and perform duties on the bus.

Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with the bus driver and other team members.

Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings and afternoons.

Valid drivers license and clean driving record (if required for certain tasks, such as assisting with student transportation).
