Aircraft painter provides technical interface with manufacturers and suppliers regarding aircraft software design improvements, new aircraft software requirements, and aircraft data acquisition and distribution.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Removes grease, dirt, paint, and corrosion from aircraft surface, using abrasives, solvents, and brushes.
Apply markings to parts and aircraft using several methods including silk screens and maskant aids.
Must be able to perform masking and taping of components and aircraft.
Aircraft Paint Booth manometer and temperature/humidity readings and tracking.
Prepares exterior surface of aircraft for painting.
Paints aircraft interior, exterior and piece parts to engineering and customer specifications.
Applies aircraft finishes and external markings to sections.
Ensures the use of appropriate manual references and proper tools in performing paint duties.
Ensures that labor and materials used in assigned area of responsibility are charged to the correct job and work order number.
Repair assignments may occasionally require heavy lifting.
