Transport Planners Needed in Dubai

We have a key position based in Dubai for a Transport Modeller to take a leading technical role on a range of transport planning projects. The candidate must have experience of Highway modelling in the middle east environment using VISUM. Experience in demand and revenue forecasting, public transport, multi-modal or micro-simulation modelling would also be advantageous.

This is an ideal opportunity for candidates wishing to develop their modelling expertise on a wide range of different and challenging transport studies and to rapidly progress to a project management role.



Requirements


Qualifications:
Degree in transport related subject, numeric subject or equivalent
Experience (essential):
Experience in the development and application of highway models applying UK best practice, ideally using VISUM
Experience of successfully working on complex transport planning studies as part of a wider team
Experience (desirable):
Experience in the development and application of public transport or multi-modal models
Experience in the development and application of micro-simulation models using software such as PARAMICS or VISSIM
Experience in the development and application of traffic forecasting models (TEMPRO, TRICS) and economic assessment tools (TUBA, COBA, QUADRO)
Transport related MSc
Professional membership of a relevant institution
Strong knowledge of technical transport planning environment, with focus on transport modelling and appraisal



Responsibilities


The successful candidate will be responsible for;
Leading on transport model development and application on a range of transport planning studies focused on modelling and appraisal of transport schemes and strategies. He or she will be working with a senior project manager and will be expected to take responsibility for managing tasks within an overall project framework. This will entail taking responsibility for technical quality, delivery to timescales and budget, and management of junior staff.
The candidate will be expected to rapidly progress to a full project management role with overall responsibility for technical, financial and client liaison. Projects will predominantly be Dubai based though some opportunities for travel should be expected
Contributing to business development by developing long-term client relationships and assisting with tenders for modelling studies.
Contribute to our process of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing relating to transport modelling across the transport planning business
